Recording Instructions
For the best quality audio, we recommend recording using the standard voice recording app on your
iOs or Android phone. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to record and upload your story!
Note
: If you don’t have a voice recording app or if you need assistance, please reach out to
and we’ll work with you directly to make sure you’re able to share your story.
iOs (iPhone or iPad)
● Find your Voice Memos app, which should automatically be installed on your phone. If you’ve
deleted it, simply re-install it for free from the app store.
● Record your story. Once you hit the “stop” button, your recording is then saved automatically.
● Once you’re done recording, please edit the title of your audio file in this format:
“LastName_FirstName_Location” (e.g. “Jones_Sam_MobileBayAL”).

: To change the title, tap the three blue dots at the bottom left of your audio file, select “Edit
Recording” and then tap the title to edit
.
● Now, you’re ready to send your recording! Tap the three blue dots at the bottom left of your
audio file again, select “Share” and email the file to [email protected]. By emailing your submission,
you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the disclaimer on our website.
Android
● Find your voice recorder app (most Android phones come with one automatically installed). If
you don’t have one, we recommend downloading Voice Recorder for free from the Google Play
Store.
● Record your story. Once you hit the “stop” button, you’ll be prompted to name and save the
recording.
o Please edit the title of your audio file in this format: “LastName_FirstName_Location”
(e.g. “Jones_Sam_MobileBayAL”).
● Once you hit save, you will be taken to your full list of recordings (depending on your Android
phone, you may need to hit “Recordings” or a similar button).
● Click the dropdown arrow on the audio file you want to send, tap “Share” and email the file to
the disclaimer on our website.
