Evergreen Travel Fund Study Abroad Scholarship
Amount: $2,000
Offered on behalf of the Evergreen State College Foundation, this scholarship is intended for currently
enrolled students who intend to travel to a foreign country during the 2023-24 academic year as part of
an Evergreen approved Program, Independent learning Contract, or consortium agreement. Preference
for applicants who demonstrate financial need.
Application Requirements:
An application essay, no longer than two pages double-spaced, describing:
o What you are studying at Evergreen and why.
o How you plan to use your degree after graduation.
o How studying or interning abroad will help you achieve your future academic or
professional goals.
o Why you selected your specific program and host country.
A completed 2023-24 FAFSA or WASFA.
A completed 2023-24 Evergreen Travel Abroad Scholarship Application.

Jessica Kelso Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $2,780
Offered on behalf of the Evergreen State College Foundation, this scholarship is intended for new or
currently enrolled students with at least sophomore standing attending full-time. This scholarship is
intended to support promising students who will use it to travel and study abroad in lesser-developed
areas of the world during the 2023-24 academic year. Travel must be part of an Evergreen approved
course or program, internship, consortium agreement, exchange program, or individual learning
contract (ILC). Applicants must demonstrate financial need. In addition, applicants should be one or
more of the following:
Facing high levels of student loan indebtedness
A first-generation student, e.g., a student whose parents did not graduate from a 4 year college
or university
A parent
A first-year student at Evergreen heading into their second year, for whom academic year 2023-
24 will be their second year at Evergreen
Application Requirements:

Lucille Rideau Undergraduate Study Abroad Scholarship
Amount: $1,955
This scholarship is offered on behalf of the Evergreen State College Foundation, and intended for
currently enrolled students who intend to travel to a foreign country during the 2023-24 academic year.
Travel must be for the purpose of study and immersion in a non-English language and culture as part of
an Evergreen approved course or program, internship, consortium agreement, exchange program, or
individual learning contract (ILC). Preference for students who demonstrate financial need, are parents,
and travel to a country in which French is a commonly spoken language.
If no student fits the first priority: this scholarship is intended for currently enrolled students with junior
or senior class standing, who are parents with dependent children.

o What you are studying at Evergreen and why.
o How you plan to use your degree after graduation.
o How studying or interning abroad will help you achieve your future academic or
professional goals.
o Why you selected your specific program and host country.

enrolled students who intend to travel to a foreign country during the 2023-24 academic year. Travel
must be part of an Evergreen approved course or program, internship, consortium agreement, exchange
program, or individual learning contract (ILC). Applicants must demonstrate financial need. In addition,
applicants should be one or more of the following:
