2018 PRESENT Research and Learning Programme Manager, Institute of

Manage £8.5million Knowledge, Evidence and Learning for Development (K4D)
programme, improving impact of FCDO/UK Government development policy and
programming through learning, research and evidence uptake. Increased K4D performance
to ‘A+’ rating (March 2021), citing multiple examples of impact
Advise a range of donors, policymakers and practitioners on research, knowledge
mobilisation, learning strategy to increase individual and organisational learning and
development impact. Clients include FCDO and other UK AID spending departments, Irish
Aid, IDRC, development consultancies, INGOs
Design and deliver knowledge, evidence and learning activities using a range of modalities,
exploring complex, interdisciplinary, topical development challenges of strategic
importance. Approaches have influenced development policy, programming, on topics
including response to indirect impacts of Covid-19, water security, MENA strategy, health
systems strengthening, girls education and climate and other areas
Oversee delivery of research and learning products, ensuring quality and value. K4D has
delivered over 1000 evidence syntheses and 40 emerging issues reports, reading packs,
topical evidence summaries, short videos, animations, infographics and graphic illustrations
Lead the K4D consortium of 20+ research, communications, MEL specialists from globally
renowned academic institutes and consultancies, including line managing eight staff at IDS
Develop research, knowledge mobilisation and learning partnerships, in global north and
south, through K4D, the Covid Collective, and the BASIC Research programme
Co-convenor of the Shaping Policy with Evidence online short course, working with
partners from global north and south
