65.IthereforeSolomonprayed tomyGod,andIinvokedtheangel ofwhom
Enépsigosspoketome,andusedmyseal.AndIsealedherwithatriplechain,
and(placed)beneathherthefasteningofthechain.IusedthesealofGod,and
thespiritprophesiedtome,saying:"Thisiswhatthou,KingSolomon,doestto
us. But after a time thy kingdom shall be broken, and again in season this
Templeshallbedrivenasunder;andallJerusalemshallbeundonebytheKing
of the Persians and Medes and Chaldaeans. And the vessels of this Temple,
whichthoumakest,shallbeputtoservileusesofthegods;andalongwiththem
allthejars,inwhichthoudostshutusup,shallbebrokenbythehandsofmen.
Andthenweshallgoforthingreatpowerhitherandthither,andbedisseminated
all over the world. And we shall lead astray the inhabited world for a long
season,untiltheSonofGodisstretcheduponthecross.Forneverbeforedoth
ariseakinglikeuntohim,onefrustratingusall,whosemothershallnothave
contactwithman.Whoelsecanreceivesuchauthorityoverspirits,excepthe,
whomthefirstdevilwillseektotempt,butwillnotprevailover?Thenumberof
hisnameis644,whichisEmmanuel.Wherefore,OKingSolomon,thytimeis
evil,andthyyearsshortandevil,andtothyservantshallthykingdombegiven."
66.AndISolomon,havingheardthis,glorifiedGod.AndthoughImarvelledat
theprophecyofthedemon,Ididnotcreditituntilitcametrue.AndIdidnot
believetheirwords;butwhentheywererealized,thenIunderstood,andatmy
deathIwrotethisTestamenttothechildrenofIsrael,andgaveittothem,sothat
theymightknowthepowersofthedemonsandtheirshapes,andthenamesof
theirangels,bywhichtheseangelsarefrustrated.AndIglorifiedtheLordGod
ofIsrael,andcommandedthespiritstobeboundwithbondsindissoluble.
67. And havingpraised God, I commanded anotherspirit to comebefore me;
andtherecamebeforemyfaceanotherdemon,havinginfronttheshapeofa
horse,butthebehindofafish.Andhehadamightyvoice,andsaidtome:"O
KingSolomon,Iamafiercespiritofthesea,andIamgreedyofgoldandsilver.
Iamsuchaspiritasroundsitselfandcomesovertheexpansesofthewaterof
thesea,andItripupthemenwhosailthereon.ForIroundmyselfintoawave,
and transform myself, and then throw myself on ships and come right in on
them.Andthatismybusiness,andmywayofgettingholdofmoneyandmen.
ForItakethemen,andwhirlthemroundwithmyself,andhurlthemenoutof
thesea.ForIamnotcovetousofmen'sbodies,butcastthemupoutoftheseaso
